Suppression- This component can slow or even eliminate monsters regeneration over time, making it good for defense in depth strategies using many gems (particularly traps), or situations where you're not sure your killgem can eliminate monsters on the first pass. Monsters with regeneration can be made substantially easier with suppression gems as well. Unlike most other component skills, which give comparatively small bonuses to component power, the suppression skill gives +20% regeneration power every level and +25% to gems over grade 7 every 3rd level. ![]() Without skills the reduction to regeneration is modest, and they can take a significant number of shots to do anything of consequence even in traps. ![]() Because of this it may be better to place them in towers where they can get more shots off. Slow- As the name implies, slow gems are capable of slowing enemies down by a percentage, forcing them to spend more time in range of your towers and traps. Since their special is based on a percentage of the enemy's speed rather than a number generated by solely by the gem, their utility is not as dependent on raw statistics as others. As a result, even comparatively low grades can be effective against high hit point enemies. ![]() Their skill trades out the typical +4% component power every level for +4% duration every level. Slow gem's effects do not stack, so don't deploy more than you need.Īrmor Tearing- This component allows gems to destroy some armor on every hit, making giants and buffed monsters more manageable, and keeping Shadows from spiraling out of control with their continuously increasing armor values.
